What I Love About JLo’s “I Luh Ya Papi” Music Video

Jennifer Lopez’s 28 year old career is showing no signs of slowing down. The diva recently released the music video for “I Luh Ya Papi” which is the first single from her forthcoming album which will be released later this year. Here are three things that I liked from the music video.

The video opens up with a sequence of JLo and her friends discussing ideas for the video with a label representative. While throwing around ideas, one of her friends suggests that she objectifies men in her music video just as many male artists have objectified women in their music videos over the years. The hot half naked men parade around with their chiselled bodies as JLo goes as far as even spanking them.

JLo is effortlessly glamorous. Her style never looks forced and she genuinely looks like she dresses the way she does in the video on a daily basis. I especially loved the white outfit as well as the green jumpsuit which looks like the iconic dress she wore at the Grammy’s all those years ago.

Throughout the music video she has two girls as her back-up singers/dancers a la Beyoncé and one of my favourite moves that they do together is the “nae-nae” which I’m learning to do.
