Throwback Thursday: The Beatles’ Love Me Do

It is Thursday! As usual, I take you down musical memory lane. This week we focus on none other than The Beatles.

The Beatles were an English boy band which was formed in Manchester in the 60’s. The group consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Their popularity was dubbed ‘Beatlemania’ and has paved a way for popular music culture today.

They started out by playing in clubs till they were discovered by Brian Epstein who would later be their manager. Under the wing of music producer, George Martin, they released their first single, ‘Love Me Do’, which became very popular at the time. The few years after that led to what we know today as ‘The British Invasion’, which saw the group enter the US pop markets. After enjoying much success, they disbanded in 1970.

Here is a video of their first single, ‘Love Me Do’. Enjoy!
