Throwback Thursday: Anita Baker – Sweet Love

Once again, something else I haven’t done in a while. Throwback Thursday! This week I’m giving you some sweet love!

"Sweet Love"  is the title of a popular song from 1986 by R&B singer Anita Baker. It was the second single from her critically acclaimed album,Rapture, Baker’s second studio album. The song was Baker’s first big hit single, peaking at #2 on the Billboard R&B chart, #3 on the Billboard adult contemporary chart, and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the fall of 1986. The song also reached #13 on the UK Singles Chart that same year. Baker won two Grammy Awards at the 1987 ceremony. The song "Sweet Love" won in the category Best R&B Song, earning her (along with Gary Bias and Louis Johnson) a songwriting award. Also, the album containing this song, Rapture, won in the category Best Female R&B Vocal performance.
