Something I have to share: @Nolo_Chosen1’s I Can Be

I met Nolo when my friend Shandu sent out an invite for Shee’s (the duo that Nolo is part of) show held at the SABC last year. I was so blown away by their talent that I wanted to do their publicity as they had no management or publicity in place at the time.

A few months later, I was recording at the SABC with my friend Busi and Nolo happened to come into the studio. She gave us some advice which helped improve the song that we were recording at the time. During one of our breaks, Nolo played the house version of a song that she had recorded and I fell in love with it. I called it ‘Golden’ at the time but later found that the title is ‘I Can Be’.

She asked one of the guys who played piano to do a neo soul version of the song for her own personal use and that birthed the version which she performs in the video below:

I am very excited about Nolo’s career. She plans on releasing music in future and I don’t doubt that her star will shine bright enough to blind some when the time is right.
