The campaign is a product of a creative partnership between SABC1 and Muthaland Entertainment. The aim is to raise awareness with the channel’s audiences and to raise funds to donate to NGO’s addressing the issues of abuse against women and children.
Popular artists featuring in the video song, produced by Amu, includes; Ishmael, Nthabi, Kabomo, My Selwyn, Teepee, Peanut Gallery, Nolly Nolz, Malik, Nancy G, Proverb, Nothende, Jay Stash, and Kelly Khumalo. The video will also features a number of SABC1 icons including Lerato Kganyago, Mpho Putini, Boity, Sophie Ndaba, Kedebone Mkhabela, Winnie Modise, Aaron Moloisi, Warrick Stock, amongst others.
The song will also receive extensive airplay on our sister radio stations during the campaign period. Other elements to the campaign will include supporting messages by various participating artists and channel icons both on radio and television. The campaign’s twitter handle is @sabc1-16days and the Facebook page is: SABC1 16 Days of Activism Against Women & Children Abuse. The official hashtag for this campaign is #thinkitover.
The song is downloadable at the cost of R5 by sms-ing the words, 16DAYS, to the number 31755. The sms cost is R1.50
