PLAYLIST: The Buyel’Ekhaya Music Festival is gonna rock!

Home time! I just wrapped up my exams and I’m currently packing for the holidays. One of the things that I am looking forward to this December is the Buyel’Ekhaya Music Festival which will be held in East London. The festival celebrates its 6th year and the line-up is insane. They are even going to do a tribute to Brenda Fassie who died 10 years ago. I am definitely looking forward to it.

The line-up consists of Papa Wemba, Oliver Mtukudzi, Ray Phiri & Stimela, Trompies, Mafikizolo, The Soil, Zahara, Uhuru, Berita, DJ Ganyani and DJ Tira. So as one does, I have compiled a playlist so that I can sing along to all my favourites from some of these artists. I don’t want to miss a single lyric. Check out my playlist below.

Zahara – Impilo

Oliver Mtukudzi – Todii

DJ Ganyani – Xigubu

DJ Ganyani – Be There

Berita – Thandolwethu

Ray Phiri and Stimela

Mafikizolo – Khona

The Buyal’Ekhaya festival takes place on Sunday, 21st December 2014 at Buffalo Cricket Stadium; with electrifying performances by Africa’s greatest musical exports. Tickets are now available at Computicket for R180.Cooler boxes and picnic baskets will be charged at R50 per person. No bottles, weapons and sharp objects will be allowed.
