MTV to honour Beyonce with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2014 MTV VMA’s

While the world speculates on whether or not she is getting divorced, Mrs Carter is gearing up for what MTV has dubbed a “once in a lifetime” performance at the MTV VMA’s that are set to take place on the 24th of August. Apart from 8 other nominations, she will also join an exclusive list of artists who have received the legendary “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” as this year’s recipient.

The 2014 “MTV Video Music Awards” is presented by MTV in association with Sprite and powered by MTN.  The show premieres live on MTV on Monday 25 August at 03:00 CAT, with the primetime premiere on Monday 25 August at 21:00 CAT (red carpet show at 20:00 CAT).

To vote for the VMA winners, in categories such as “Best Hip Hop,” “MTV Clubland”, “Best Video with a Social Message” and more visit  Nominees for a new socially voted category, “Best Lyric Video” will be announced at a later date on

BEYONCÉ joins previously announced 2014 “MTV Video Music Award” performers Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5.  Additional performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.
