Lira talks about her new album and the business of music

When I get asked who my favourite musicians are, Lira is one of the artists that get a top mention. As an artist myself, I am inspired by her music and often try to emulate her movements on stage since like her, I also had challenges with how to manoeuvre my small frame on stage. With that said, you can imagine my excitement when she announced her new album, Born Free which is already available in stores.

The first song I heard from the album was Rhythm of Your Heart which was in the movie, Happiness is a Four Letter Word. I am currently loving Be About It and the overall positive message and call to action to all of us to start being the change that we want to see in the world – something that she has always been a champion for.

The songstress who was recently named as a Johnny Walker ambassador spoke to Beyond The Eyes’ Behind The Music ahead of her album launch concert which takes place at The Lyric at Gold Reef City tonight, tomorrow and Sunday.

Watch below as the ‘The Voice’ coach talks about the importance of treating your craft as a business as well as what inspired her new album.
