Lajawi tackles the hairline issue…

I was sad when I heard that The Link on SABC 1 was cancelled. It was a great show. One of their features was Beauty Box where experts shared tips and tricks on how to take better care of your hair, skin and shared style tips.

With Ntsiki Mazwai’s recent rants about weaves, I remembered that while Beyoncé has been weaving for many years, her hairline is still firmly in tact so the hairline debate is one that is played out and stale.

In this edition of Beauty Box, Jawad Maphoto from La Jawi Beaty Café showed viewers on The Link how they can take better care of their hairline. You can thank me later…

He says:

  • Visit the salon for a treatment once a week.
  • Wash your braids a week after getting them to ease the tension.
  • Do not keep extensions (weaves/braids) for too long as this prevents you from giving your real hair a proper wash.
  • Use edge control products or oils such as coconut and amla oil.
